Lids For Lismore.
If we’re honest, we don’t really write about boogin’ here at Infoamed. What we write about are the personalities and happenings within the boogin’ communities sprinkled all around the globe, with these communities all linked together by our love of sliding waves.
Members of boogin’ community’s in and around the Lismore, Ballina, Mullumbimby and Tweed areas in Northern New South Wales have recently been caught up in the catastrophic floods that have all but wiped some towns off the map, left hundreds with nothing but the closes on their back and decimated people’s lives.
One of the defining features of the bodyboarding sub-culture is the fact that we are always willing to pitch in and help out a fellow booger in need. Whether it’s a place to stay whilst travelling, sharing little nuggets of local knowledge, lending equipment or simply sharing waves, in one way or another we look after each other.
With this ideal in mind we’re launching “Lids For Lismore”.
We’ll be running a series of four raffles over the next four weeks with brand new gear generously donated by NMD, Hardy shapes, Science Australia, D5, Inverted, Emerald Surf, Unite, Inspired Clothing and Haunted Clothing.
Each raffle will feature a board, assorted gear and clothing from each of the different contributors.
Tickets will cost $25 dollars each with multiple ticket purchases allowed. Each raffle wil be capped at 100 entries, so get in quick to secure your chance to be in the running to win one of these fantastic prize packs and contribute some much needed fiancial help towards affected boogers in the above commnities.
If we sell every ticket in the four raffles we can raise $10,000 dollars which we will be passed on to the Ballina based Headlanders Bodyboard club to distribute to as they see fit amoungst their members and other townsfolk to try to bring a little stoke back into the lives of those affected by the floods.
First pack goes up for auction tomorrow with details of what is in the pack in a seperate article tomorrow!
